About us

The Lifestyle Docs Clinics is the center for lifestyle medicine in the Netherlands.

We are specialized in “The big five”:

  • Overweight, obesity
  • type 2 diabetes
  • High bloodpressure
  • Heart and vascular disease
  • Rheumatoid arthritis

We are also the center for the health risks of sedentary behavior (excessive sitting) and the secondary complications of spinal cord injury / wheelchair-bound existence.

We fall under the Allowed Care Institutions Act (WTZA) and offer primary and medical specialist care that is financed by the Healthcare Insurance Act (ZW) or the Long-Term Care Act (WLZ).

Lifestyle diseases cause a lot of suffering and cost society a lot of money. By preventing, treating, or in many cases even completely reversing these diseases, many people can have a better quality of life. This also leads to less absenteeism because these people can do their job normally again and have less entitlement to health care. Many (international) studies have now been conducted that show that lifestyle-related diseases can be prevented or reversed through timely and decisive lifestyle change. A healthy lifestyle consists of 6 building blocks, we look at all these areas in a process and, if necessary, work on them:

Healthy living starts with good nutrition, followed by sufficient exercise and stress management. But practice shows that more is needed. Many people who want (or have to) change their lifestyle quickly fall back into old habits. That is why we support our clients with:
